Saturday 21st November 2008

Destination :- Strathallan Airfield

Event :- Julie Lennox jumps out of an aeroplane on behalf of Lanarkshire Carer Centre

Comment :- Why, I hear you ask, would any one in their right mind want to attach themselves to someone they had never met before and then jump out of an aeroplane at 10,000 feet, free fall for 34 seconds at a speed of 117mph in a downwards direction. Saj and Laura's wedding

Tuesday 22nd of July 2008
Destination :- New Lanark
Event :- The marraige of Mr and Mrs Sabri
Comment :-

After many months of preparation, Laura and Saj were married in the Music Room at beautiful New Lanark by the Falls of Clyde. Several club members were lucky to join this special couple on their big day and the whole club wishes them a long and happy life together. With both sharing a love of music and the talent to match, life in the Sabri household will undoubtably be a melodic existence. Congratulations from all your friends at HODC.

Selling tickets in town

Date :- Saturday 3rd May, 2008
Destination :- Regent Way Shopping Centre, Hamilton
Mission :- Meet the public and sell tickets
Result :-

Gordon Watson, Margaret Murdie, Alex Black, Emma Rodgers, Lesley Smith, Valerie Bowie, Suzanne MacMillan, Stuart Dick and Colin Hyslop took to the indoor streets of Hamilton Shopping Centre (well, you wouldn't want us getting a chill so close to show week, would you?) to promote our forth coming show, 'Crazy for You'. Whilst the 'Crazy' gang were side stepped by many, they did not let this get them down and by the end of the day, they had sold another three hundred pounds worth of tickets, many to people who had not previously heard of our wonderful club. Hundreds of fliers advertising the show were also handed out and it will be interesting to see if further sales follow from this successful day. Thanks to all those who took part and a big thank you to Margot Aitken, Manageress of the Centres 'Phones 4U' shop, for liaising with the Centre Management. Had she not done so, today's sales would not have taken place, so thanks again.

(pictured Emma and Valerie take a well earned rest)
