Synopsis

Based on The Matchmaker by Thornton
Wilder, Hello Dolly tells the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a matchmaker, who has
been hired to arrange a marriage for the widowed half-millionaire, Horace
Vandergelder. Dolly, however, has other
plans. She has herself been recently
divorced and sees Horace, with his fortune, 
as her the perfect mate.

When Dolly lands in Yonkers she starts
to sow the seeds of doubt in Horace's mind
about Mrs Irene Molloy, the pretty young
widow she has picked for him. Meanwhile, Vandergelder's two employee's are
plotting to take advantage of their bosses
absence and sneak off for their first every
visit to the big City. Soon they cross paths
with Vandergelder and hide in Irene
Malloy's Hat shop. Dolly and Irene
attempt to hide the boys from Horace
but he comes the conclusion that his
intended fiancé is hidng hoards of men
in her shop. Love, however, does blossom
and all soon meet their match.
